Wifi hack ipa cydia for iphone

After spending a whole night of endless attempts, I decided to go for a different route. I have tried this so far on three different devices, and got the same result on all three: immediate success!
Get Cydia Impactor and Electra (presumably the non-dev version)
Before you begin, make sure iOS 11.4 OTA update has not been downloaded, and if so, delete it. To do this, go to Settings > General > Storage and scroll down until you find it (although it may not be there).

1. The first and main step is to restore the iPhone:
   1. Backup to iTunes, so that you can later restore your data
   2. Turn off Find My iPhone to avoid having to sign in for activation lock
   3. Go to Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Data
2. Once the process is done, you should have a 'new' iPhone, on the same version you had before (11.3.1 in my cases)
   1. Set up language and region
   2. Connect to a wifi and wait for activation
   3. DO NOT sign in to iCloud, and opt OUT of all options that are given
      1. To skip iCloud sign in, tap on the blue text Don't have an Apple ID or forgot it, then Set Up Later in Settings
      2. To skip Passcode and TouchID/FaceID, select More Options > Don't Use a Passcode
      3. Do NOT enable Location Services
      4. Do NOT enable Siri
   4. When asked, select Set up as a new phone
   5. Agree to T's&C;'s
3. I reccomend installing the "tvOS 11 beta profile" which I cannot link but it's easy to google
   1. This will bring you into the Settings app, then tap Install after which it will ask to reboot your device, which you should do
4. Loading Electra onto the device
   1. Open Cydia Impactor, drag the Electra .ipa onto it, and sign in with your Apple ID (if you have 2FA you can find more details around)
   2. Wait for the process to complete, then unplug your phone
   3. If you try to open the Electra App now, it won't open as you need to trust it: go to Settings > General > Device Management > Profiles & Device Management > Under developer app you should see your Apple ID > Trust
5. Jailbreaking the phone
   1. Disable WiFi & Bluetooth, then enable Airplane Mode
   2. Clear the app switcher, then clear the RAM (bring up power down view by holding the Sleep button, then hold the Home button until you see your screen flicker and the view get dismissed)
   3. Open Electra, tap Jailbreak, sit back and enjoy! Some people also reported locking the screen and wait a few minutes to increase success, I suggest you do this anyway even though it may not be necessary.
   4. Upon reboot you should be able to see Cydia, however you want open the Electra app again and tap Enable Jailbreak. This should also succeed on the first try, however the device might reboot at "1/3" and you'll have to try again
6. Restoring the back up
   1. At this point I have connected the device to iTunes to restore the backup, after which both Cydia and Electra will not open (due to the jailbreak being semi-untethered, you have to perform some steps again at every reboot)
   2. If you have restored a backup, make sure that the following are disabled:
      1. Siri
      2. Find My iPhone
      3. Location Services
   3. Delete the Electra app, and perform step 4 again (loading through Cydia Impactor)
   4. Now perform step 5 again with the difference that you should see Enable Jailbreak on the first time you open the Electra app
   5. The device should respring and Cydia should open as normal

I hope this will be useful to those like me who have been stuck and have tried all sorts of things, including waving a wand over your phone and such!

how to change root password and mobile password
first enter: su root
type in the password (default: alpine)
that will get you to root. then just use: passwd
type the new password twice, then: passwd mobile
type a new password twice (can be the same or different from the root one)
and you're done

another tip if you have sources that are not refreshing properly, this is how i fixed it
download the tweak NewTerm2 from cydia.hbang.ws repo
once installed open it and execute the command as follows
su
enter password (default: alpine)
apt-get update
if its successful, your good
if it freezes on one of them, delete it from cydia and try adding it again singularly.

Cydia Impactor common problems and fixes
You will inherently need to use cydia impactor at some point. most likely will run into issues, many of them. Before you give up, heres how i navigated thru them and ultimately got it to work.
first know that there are not one but two versions of cydia impactor that you need downloaded to fully utilize signing and revoking of apps. Impactor_0.9.43 and Impactor0.9.44
download both of them
rename Impactor_0.9.43 to Impactor_0.9.43_revoke
rename Impactor_0.9.44 to Impactor_0.9.44_sign
yes you've guessed it, you will be using the respective versions to do just that and nothing more.
weather you want to sign or revoke an app you need to do as follows
To revok, use version Impactor_0.9.43
while your phone is plugged in, click xcode
revoke
when prompted for apple id, enter a real one that you have access to
when prompted for password make sure you use the app specific password generated thru appleid.apple.com
to generate a password go to appleid.apple.com
sign in using your apple id credentials
click generate password
copy that password and use it for the impactor password prompt.
To sign, use version Impactor _0.9.44
download your app of choice, make sure it is in .ipa format
while your phone is plugged in, click and drag .ipa app to the cydia impactor
when prompted for apple id, enter a real one that you have access to
when prompted for password make sure you use the app specific password generated thru appleid.apple.com
to generate a password go to appleid.apple.com
sign in using your apple id credentials
click generate password
copy that password and use it for the impactor password prompt
KODI Install work around (credit)
ON YOUR COMPUTER-
Install cygwin x86 on Windows
Download the iOS Toolchain for Windows
Drop the files in the bin folder from iOS Toolchain zip into the cygwin/bin folder
Download the Kodi 17.6 deb
Extract the data.tar from the deb, and then extract the tar file. All you want is the Kodi.app folder
Create a folder called Payload, and drop the Kodi.app folder into it
Open cygwin and navigate to the Kodi.app folder you put in the Payload folder
Had to figure this out the hard way, drag the whole kodi.app folder you just created and drop it into the cygwin window. It should navigate to the folder automatically and you should be able to proceed with the following commands.
Run these commands:

ldid2 -S Kodi find $PWD/ -name *.so -exec ldid2 -S {} \; find $PWD/ -name *.dylib -exec ldid2 -S {} \; 

If you don't have 7zip, install it. Right click the Payload folder and add to archive with 7zip. Make sure it is a zip and name it Kodi.ipa
Install the IPA with Cydia Impactor
Little tricky but thats what I followed to get kodi to work.

I Love using both RetroAch and Provenance.

scroll clear down to the bottom till you see
RetroArch.1.7.0-ios11.ipa and Provenance 1.4-n64 swift.ipa
download those two .ipa's to get a full suite of emulation platforms.
install either via cydia impactor or thru filza with appsync unified intalled before hand.
