Greetings Call of Duty: Mobile Community, we are back this week and we have a lot to talk about as we get closer and closer to our next update. Today, we are officially announcing that next update is coming out in two phases. The first of which will be hitting next week! The second phase will be landing one week later, at the beginning of April.
Between those two updates we’ll have new modes, a new scorestreak, in-game UI changes, bug fixes, an additional credit store update, a new ranked season, a brand-new Battle Pass, and of course the release of the long-awaited multiplayer map - Meltdown. https://preview.redd.it/gy8ymiqe1qn41.png?width=3819&format=png&auto=webp&s=22d3c85c48e0df726dd3a3919d7b9595b1cc03a4
We are going to reveal all of the majority of those details next week alongside the update, but before we get into any of the usual news and info this week, we would like to take a moment to address bans, enforcement, recent events, and the future of this system.
Bans & Enforcement
Last week, just after our community update went out, we started receiving a significant number of messages about a content creator, NoahfromYT, being banned. As many of you have pointed out recently, this ban occurred in a seemingly unusual way and this on top of other messages we have been receiving prompted us to immediately investigate.
Our security & enforcement teams found a detection error in a new security measure that caused nearly 500 players, to be falsely banned. We immediately reversed all of those bans and will be sending all of those players an in-game appeasement as an apology for the error.
One of the main reasons this false flag occurred, was a trigger that popped up when a player switched rapidly between two different devices. Additionally, when you combine that error with frequent reports on that player account there was an incredibly small probability, fewer than 5 players per day, where this incorrect ban would trigger.
This error has been fixed. We apologize to all players affected by this and to anyone who may have previously reached out to any of our teams to ask for a re-check of their ban. While we have manually rechecked many bans over the last month, due to our stringent policy that isn’t a particularly easy process for any of our players to go through. We are changing this.
As a part of this investigation and internal discussion around this system, we have come back with a few actions to help prevent this from happening in the future:
- In-game appeal system
- Details on this are still being worked on, but we want to find an efficient way for players to be able to contest a ban and have our team re-check it
- Significant optimizations and changes to existing security tools to reduce the chances of any misdetections or errors happening in the future
We know there are currently many of you still banned and claiming they are false bans as well. With that in mind, we have a dedicated a comment section below for that. If you want your ban rechecked then please just respond there and let us know your UID or username (case sensitive).
We will work with our security & enforcement team to double check all requests. For everyone who has been waiting for this information, thank you for the patience and for the understanding. We’ll do our best to improve this whole process in the future. https://preview.redd.it/3eiqh2xs1qn41.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=367a6e2bb3c5a9a8f7ab64550056c127d0a88101

The Next Update
Those of you who been participating in our public test build have already been able to check out quite a bit of what is coming in the next update, but we’ll have screenshots, videos, blogs, and more starting up next week to make sure everyone has a full rundown on everything releasing at the end of the month. However, here is one more teaser: https://preview.redd.it/q4dtvksa3qn41.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9c16b08b96a060933c40818074f9f32474ef524f
Feedback Public Test Build
A quick update, since last week we have launched a second version of this test and we have received quite a few direct messages with feedback. Thank you to everyone who is participating and who is taking the time to provide feedback, but please make sure to use the in-game surveys to provide that feedback.
That in-game survey is the main place we are going to be collecting everything related to the test and we will continue to look through all of those responses to see if there are any changes or fixes we need to make before everything comes out in the next two weeks.
One last note that anything from the test build is basically a beta of what is to come: information and features may be incorrect, missing, or outdated. Please don’t set expectations that what is seen in the test build will be the final truth or immediately available upon the release of the next update. Heavy Shot Event
We wanted to a moment to re-highlight this event, explain why it is important, and show why it is a direct response to community feedback.
Ever since we introduced our first new weapon into the game players have been asking for a way to acquire new weapons, even if it is just a base version, through something grindable. This is our first response to that feedback, and we’ll have other options coming in the future. https://reddit.com/link/fllp4d/video/2lhlafno3qn41/player
If you haven’t already, make sure to grab the KN-44 before it is gone on March 24th (UTC)
. We can’t say when it will make a return and there is still time to rise to the challenge and collect the common version of this through the heavy shot event. In addition, you can snag Prophet Sight as well in this event. Credit Store Update
We have been grateful to see all the positive feedback about all the new additions we added to the credit store last week, whether it is the zombie shards or the new weapons. Players have been spending so many credits that for the first time we are seeing memes asking for more credits instead of being upset whenever they get a login bonus or crate with credits.
We are keeping an eye on that whole economy of credits, but keep the feedback coming and thank you for appreciating the quick work our teams put in to make those changes.
Many players have already realized this, but we wanted to add some extra notes about the ZOMBIES mode shards
due to some confusion about how that works and why we added it:
- Why we added it:
- To provide players with an alternative way to finish acquiring an item or piece of gear that they were already working on and may not have time to complete due to the removal of ZOMBIES mode next week.
- How it works:
- Purchase up to 10 shards per day for any of the nine ZM items in the credit store
- Go to your inventory page (under Loadout) to see how many total shards that item requires. Most items require more than 10 shards.
- Item values are technically still the same as other items in the credit store, meaning an epic item, if you have zero shards, will still cost 20,000 credits
We are already working on the next credit store update, so please make sure to keep letting us know how you feel about the updates and what you would like to see there in the future.
Thankfully, most of the bug reports and contacts we have seen over the last week or two have been all known bugs that are already being worked on and many of which will be addressed in the upcoming update. However, we are still investigating individual reports related to high latency (lag), crashing or freezing, and performance related issues.
Those types of issues may not directly be solvable through a single directed bug fix, but we are always, with each update, trying to improve performance across the board. Please do keep reaching out to our player support channels with that if you need assistance. Missing In-Game Events
Some players in Japan have reported that their in-game events tab has been missing since recent updates. We have identified the issue and will be deploying a fix soon, but in the meantime if you are experiencing this issue please try changing your language in-game to temporarily resolve the issue. Where To Find Support
If you need any assistance in general, whether it is reporting a bug, running into issues purchasing something, you are experiencing stability issues, or anything related then please contact our Player Support channels through the in-game option or through the Activision Support website: https://support.activision.com/contact_us https://preview.redd.it/rgyvyigd4qn41.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=a45d69d66bda491cf612b178dd07d1ccb553b789
This week we are highlighting a Reddit thread and video that was hard to miss. Everyone can appreciate a good stealth defuse, and u/MoveSizeSpreadThighs
showed that even after COD Mobile being out for six months there are still spots that people don’t always check & clear before planting.
Well done on earning that clutch 1 vs 4 win. Find that thread and video here: https://www.reddit.com/CallOfDutyMobile/comments/fj38y1/working_progress_on_my_ninja_skillz/
Next week we’ll return with a detailed post centered all around the update! For now, we’ll be keeping an eye on all portions of the community for more feedback, hilarious memes, and kind words of encouragement that keep us going through these challenging times.
To everyone out there, please be safe and take care of yourselves. We’ll see next time.
